Don, Professional Photographer

I've been doing portrait work for years, first with models, and then with the general public. I've done a lot of solo, family, graduation, couples, headshots, and professional work shoots over the past 2-3 years. I've done a few paid dating site shoots, and I really enjoyed them. Dating is hard, and getting the right images that people will see first is critical. I've enjoyed helping people get those images that would portray them in their best light. I try to focus on what it is that they're trying to convey about themselves and make sure we capture that in their images. Are they funny? Serious? Affluent? Educated? Sporty? Whatever it is and whatever they're looking for, it's my focus to portray them in that light. It's very rewarding.

Lots of communication. I want their photos to be authentic, so I ask a lot of questions. What image do they want to present? What's their personality? I don't want to just put someone into the same old canned poses that photographers use. I want the photos to be unique to them...the way they WANT to be seen. My clients always appreciate that approach. It shows that I'm interested in THEM, not just checking them off my "Jobs" list.

A few of my favorites would be parks, bridges over water, downtown for some nice "street" shots, bars and restaurants, or near lakes. I work with my clients to find locations that bring out their best and where they feel comfortable. Some examples would be Prophetstown SP, the pedestrian bridge in Lafayette, Holliday Park or Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis.
